Abstract
The role of IT has changed enormously in the past 20 years, yet how we go about eliciting requirements and developing software is firmly rooted in the last century (Agile stems from practices at the Lockheed Skunk Works in the 1940s). To build usable systems with good user experience we need user-centred design; itself not new but eminently more suited to building interactive solutions.
